Palm Sunday with the Donkeys: A Special Visit to Sonlight Wesleyan Church

This Palm Sunday was one to remember as Lemler Long Ears had the joy of bringing a few of our beloved donkeys to Sonlight Wesleyan Church to help celebrate this meaningful day. It was a beautiful morning filled with smiles, laughter, and lots of gentle ear scratches as church members of all ages gathered to meet our long-eared friends.

This event was extra special because it marked the very first outing for baby donkey, Mocha!

Alongside Mocha were a few of our other donkeys, including our older and more experienced four-legged friends who helped lead the way. The donkeys added a meaningful, living connection to the story of Palm Sunday, bringing a touch of biblical history to life for everyone who attended.

The highlight of the morning? Watching the joy on children’s faces as they got to pet, brush, and even walk beside the donkeys. Adults loved it too — many shared fond memories of donkeys from their own past or expressed amazement at just how gentle and loving these animals are.

We’re so thankful to Sonlight Wesleyan Church for inviting Lemler Long Ears to be part of their celebration. Mocha’s first outing was a success, and we’re excited to continue sharing our donkeys with the community in ways that bring both education and joy.

Happy Palm Sunday from all of us at Lemler Long Ears!
